If you are someone like me, who had to create whatever she needed/wanted because just buying/receiving it wasn’t an option, being thankful wasn’t on my plate.
However, there was something I knew; I knew that through my creativity and ingenuity I was inspiring myself and others in the process.
With time, I’ve learned to appreciate things by not taking anything for granted; and this is what I’m offering you as my gift for Thanksgiving, which for those of you who are living in the USA are celebrating nowadays.
As a second generation after the holocaust and growing in a developing country, there was nothing I felt I could positively trust. Regardless of all of her desires, my mom, who was the dominant person in my life, was crossing mountains of challenges to keep the family together and safe; though my father participated at the forefront of 5 wars. We were all happy for him to return safe, however, there was nothing in it for me but having a family who didn’t lose its head. And if this wasn’t enough, my father’s family opposed their marriage, of which I was its first born out of five.
So when your life is nothing but an ongoing drama, feeling thankful isn’t your dominant vibration. But finding that there are things that can not be taken for granted, that was something I could track.
- I’ve never took my friends for granted; I’ve learned to be a good and loyal friend.
- I’ve never took my talents for granted; I continue to be a student.
- I’ve never took the love I received for granted; I’ve always respected the giver.
- And if there’s anything that I know is there for me in an endless supply, is my divine guidance and providence, and still I don’t take it for granted.
I am constantly, moment by moment, growing that trust by being thankful and grateful for that guidance and providence.
At the moment we take things for granted; we’re missing out on the gift. So, if there’s anything I would have to ask you to do, it would be to find 3 things you took for granted and revisit them.
They are where your gifts are.
Thank you for reading and sharing your time plus attention with me, I don’t take it for granted and I’m totally grateful for your comments, shares and feedback.
